Imagineering professor speaks at tourism congress

This October representatives of the Dutch tourism industry convened in Malta under the theme "Added Value" to discuss the situation of the industry in the economic crisis and its future. The conference was called a "resounding success" and the "best conference" ever by its director Frank Oostdam. The contribution of associate professor in imagineering Diane Nijs played an important role in that.

Her presentation stood out among influential speakers from the tourism sector as the "most inspirational". She introduced the relevance of imagineering to the travel industry, and brought attention to need for co-creation with the consumer, as well as design-thinking.

An account of the presentation of Diane Nijs was published in Dutch magazine Reisburo. You can find the article in the Downloads section here.

The AVNR congress, and Prof. Nijs' role in it is also described in the following blog article: http://www.reisportals.nl/2009/10/08/anvr-congres-toegevoegde-waarde-extreme-lastminutes-low-cost-airlines-1/
