Imagineering
Imagineering is a concept that has various interpretations coming out of different sources. Thus, to avoid confusion, in this website we will provide a definition that captures what Imagineering means to the Imagineering Academy.
The best way to do so is through the definition Associate Professor in Imagineering, Diane Nijs, has worked on, defining Imagineering as value creation from the experience perspective. In other words, Imagineering is the design process by which an imaginative artifact is brought into existence that can mobilize people in a generative way.
For more information on Imagineering, we invite you to look at the following presentation (tip: look around the presentation with your mouse for more examples):
If you want to see how this definition translates to practical matters, we invite you to look at our Research and Projects section, where we have various examples (from Bachelors, to Masters to our staff’s research) that may help you get a better understanding of Imagineering out in the world.
Furthermore, you can find many videos that feature lecturers and guest lecturers from the Imagineering Academy discussing Imagineering and the relationship to their expertise. For more on this, check out our Youtube channel.
Obviously, being an academic organization whose main interest is researching Imagineering, we are always interested in discussing it and its meaning, so if you have something you would like to share on the matter, please join us in our Imagineering Academy Linked In group and add to the discussions!
